Alpine Days Quilt Show 2009

Saturday was our yearly Alpine Days Quilt Show. And just like in years past it didn't disappoint. I wasn't feeling so great that day but did manage to make it over to see all the quilts for a few minutes.

My Rainbow Exchange quilt with blocks made by some of you.
And my Christmas Cottage quilt made with blocks from some of you, too. I love my exchange block quilts.

Hmmmm. I wonder who this quilt belongs to?

This was my favorite quilt there. Of course it is a vintage quilt. The fabrics were beautiful so I know someone took good care of it and it was probably not used at all.
There was cowboy fabric in it right after the dark blue. I really love this pattern. I've never used diamonds before. Are they hard?

Love wedding ring quilts.
So that is it for the quilt show. These are the pictures that turned out the best.

Wow, what a talented group of ladies, there were three quilts I saw in that group that I really loved. Thank you for taking us to the show with you.
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well, get better soon! Hugs

Thanks for sharing! I didn't get to make it up there because we were having the Salem quilt show at the same time!! :( Maybe next year they won't schedule them for the same day.

I love Lone Star quilts. I also love to make them. Fig Tree Quilts has a super easy pattern for a quilt with four smaller lone stars. Also, Quilt Smart has a super easy way. I am thinking I want to make a Christmas Tree skirt using it. They really are fun and addicting. You should try it. They are fast.

Wow Nanette -- some gorgeous quilts! I've seen several of those big stars lately -- I think they're "coming back". My mom has a 1/2 finished on that she started as a baby quilt about 30 years ago -- I should talk her into finishing it -- I've always loved those stars. There are easy ways of piecing them -- you do the diamonds in rows so they're more like skewed rectangles, rather than diamonds.

So many beautiful quilts - very different all of them. I think I have quilter's envy now!

Ahhhhh Nanette! Tks so much for the wonderful Show! I adored the way the quilts were displayed ... very lovely idea; and your Christmas Cottage quilt looks awesome. Those setting stars were the perfect choice :) Hope you get to feeling better soon my dear. It takes an awful lot to keep us away from a Quilt Show, that's for sure :)

As always, the quilts from the Alpine quilters are beeeeautiful! I love your Christmas cottage quilt. And I found my cottage. I am taking my Halloween cottage along to retreat this weekend. I must finish those first then I'll assemble the Christmas Cottages. So many things to stitch and just not enough time in the day! or night either!
