Fabric Friday Cherry Celebration

I love cherries. Don't you? There is something so sweet and pretty about a cherry. Not to mention delicious. Healthy, too.
My sweet friend Nan (yes we share the same name!) sent me a little cherry surprise yesterday. She's so kind to me. Nan is thoughtful and a writer, chef and quilter. How great is that. Well not only do I have the great fabric but gourmet cherry chocolates and maraschino cherries, too. Thank you so much Nan!
Nan said she thought of me when she saw the bundle of cherries fabrics. They are all very cute and playful. It is coincidental because I have a project on the horizon (secretish) that uses cherry fabric. In the mean time, I'm going to have to put some cherries in my little baskets I'm making right now.
I laughed and laughed at the card Nan included in the box. It is so true. These are all things we fear the quilt police will charge us with! You're such a fun, thoughtful friend, Nan.
So to round out my Fabric Friday I thought I'd include these sale fabrics from Fat Quarter Shop above. I'm going to use them in my block-of-the month Alpine Group quilt.
And this Michael Miller fabric I just had to have a half-yard cut from. I love fabrics with interesting stripes and scallops. This one is just great. I might have to make a basket out of it AND also put it in my block-of the month quilt.

I was thinking of cherries this morning and here they are and they look delicious! What fun you received from Nan!! Love that stripe. I also like stripes and sometimes buy a yard "just because". LOL!

Oh Cherries! YUM! When they're in season and inexpensive, I buy them every time I go to the grocery store. A whole bag doesn't even last the day at our house!

The card is hysterical and the fabrics are beautiful!

And that card - and I'm talking about the cat hair part - so true it's scarey!

Oh...I love the chocolate cherries and your other goodies. The card is a HOOT. One time at a show, I saw little buttons you could pin on people that said "There are NO quilt police". I wish I had bought some for the gals I've taught to quilt. I've looked and not found them again. I wonder where Nan got that cute card????

What a totally cool post! I never thought to think of cherries but gosh, now I don't think I'll every look at them the same way. Actually, I'll be out spying for them now! :)

I'm just up from my nap and I feel the fabric vibe warming up and getting ready. Oh oh oh! Let see... Well of course that card is hilarious. Where did your dear friend Nan ever find such a great card? It's perfect. Makes me giggly. And just below that the fabric on the right with the little flowers are just too sweet and I want to just jump thru the screen for a snip. Hee! Good thing that can't happen, ha? I am totally into the interesting stripes. I love this print and, if you'll allow me a little more space here... When I first started quilting I was told negative things about stripes and how I should stay away from them. Do you know what I did? I didn't listen! I thought they'd make great baskets and block-of-the-months, too. (okay this last sentence I made up) but seriously... I wasn't afraid of stripes. I was just having fun!

I stopped at Hancock Fabrics for a minute today and thought of you as there they were.....peeps...do they know you? Or is this a fabric/peeps thing, I don't know about? I should have looked around for you! lol Ok, back to the fabric, yes, I do like the cherries....and love the last fabric with the stripes and scallops. Let's see if you can come up with another of my least favorite candies...Ha! :D
