It is Peep Season

I am glad they make Peeps now for most all seasons but you can't beat this time of year for the Peep selection.
Why don't they make re-closable bags for peeps? I could space out the sugar rush better knowing they won't get hard as rocks.
I worked on my baskets this past weekend. I finished the last of the curved handles. Yayyy. Those handles are time consuming.
I really love patterns that allow for extra fabric around the edges so I can square off blocks to size. This pattern works great for that.
I have 3 sizes of baskets done now. I just have the mini baskets left to make. But there are a lot of those. It is exciting to be more than half done with making my quilt. I'm looking forward to the piano key boarder.
Last weekend Shelbie and Laurie helped me get my sewing room back to baseline. All my retreat fabrics and tools are put away in their places. It makes me more motivated, creative and productive when everything is in place.

Put your Peeps in a zip lock plastic bag and it will take you a few more seconds to get to them. They are my weakness too but as a diabetic I have to watch how many I eat anymore. Enjoy them.

Did someone say "peeps???" OMG, I adore peeps and they are the very best this time of the year :) Your baskets are looking great and I loved taking a peak at your sewing room. Would love to see more :)

Love your baskets and you oh, so neat fabrics! Please tell me what Peeps are?

No, no! Hard peeps are the best! I open mine and put them on top the fridge so they dry out a little faster. (I have met other people who do the same thing, too!) And I like the bunnies better than the chicks.

Your baskets are cute! I really like the fabrics you chose.

I LOVE peeps. I always rewrap mine in a ziplock bag to keep them fresh. If not, I'd eat them all in one sitting!!

That sewing room is waaay too organized!

Des said...

too funny....i really think you have something with that peep ziploc idea. Just write a letter to the peep peeps and maybe just maybe, dreams can come true. I mean who wants to go to that much trouble to put their peeps in a separate baggy??? I don't even make my own jello anymore. I buy it already made. Can you believe that? What would my mormon ancestors say to that??!! uh, "you're lazy", that's what they'd say!

I dont think we have Peeps in Australia - what are they? I Love your baskets! And its so true, its so much more motivating working in an organised space :)

Love the baskets...I'm going to have to make this quilt one of these days! I absolutely love the fabrics you're using...I'm picturing Christmas baskets too...in Monica's new fabric!!! Love how your fabric is so perfectly organized on the shelves too!

Everytime I see a peep in a store, I think of you. I had no idea they made them for so many seasons. And you could put the leftovers in a gallon sized zip lock, you know!
Your baskets are coming along nicely. Ricci will be proud!

One of my grandbabies loves marshmellows and she will be so excited peeps are out.
I knew your baskets would look great with your fabric choices.

I've avoided the Peeps (and the black jelly beans) so far, but I don't know how much longer I'll hold out.

Your quilt blocks are beautiful and your neatly arranged sewing supplies look so appealing. It IS more pleasant to work in a space that is neat. (I seem to remember dimly what that is like.)

Your baskets are coming along nicely. They are just beautiful....and so is your organized sewing room!
I guess I'm strange because I like my peeps hard....I open the bag as soon as I get home and leave them out until they are ready to eat.
My faves are yellow chicks and pink bunnies:)

Sparky said...

Nanette, I have never heard of these peeps..you mean those pink thingies>? What do you do with them? Anyway, your baskets are coming along just fine...will you be filling them with peeps>?

I love the baskets and really like the handles. I recently gave my sewing room a good reorganizing and it feels much better to sew in.

I think we're all the same, Nanette. I know I`m more productive when everything is put away and there`s some semblance of order in my studio.

Now that you mentioned the `P`word, guess what I`m going to have to buy today. You planted the bug...I mean Peep...and I won`t rest til I have some. Oh can I feel a sugar high coming on.

Pretty baskets. I passed the Peep Aisle at Target yesterday...they're getting crazy with the colors.

Those baskets are great! This year we are putting our Peeps bunnies on a lollipop stick and dipping them in melted chocolate and sprinkles. They will make great birthday party treats! I just love the new orange color chicks!

I agree, they should definitely have re-closable bags for peeps. Our local candy manufacturer makes chocolate covered peeps!! Mmmmm...mmmm... good! Your baskets are coming along wonderfully and yes, I do function better in a well organized and clean studio. Yours is looking quite lovely.

Oh Nanette your baskets look like they should be filled with flowers, they look so real1

Could you please send Shelbie and Laurie to my house? My sewing room needs a lot of attention.

Love the baskets but I know how time comsuming the handles are!

I'm not a fan of peeps but I have friends that love them--stale! They leave them out a day or two to harden!

Meredith said...

Well I eat all of my peeps before they ever get stale or hard. LOL. I agree nice to have a clean sewing room it is inspiring. Let me know if you want a long weekend in NJ. My sewing room is a hot mess. The baskets and handles are adorable.

Love your baskets, and your room is way to clean, I also like to work that way, but it does not always look that good!!!

I have never been a Peeps fan but I do love chocolate marshmallow eggs. I try not to buy them as I am the one who eats all of them! The baskets are coming along nicely. It's going to be a really neat quilt. You are so lucky to have help with putting away fabrics. Your shelves are very inviting. :-) Would love to just come and look at all your fabrics. :-)

I can't believe I'm going to admit to something so embarrassing but I like my Peeps "aged" too. I open the package and let them breathe...sad.
Love those baskets so much. It must feel great to get through all those handles though. So pretty!

Wonderful baskets Nanette. And that bright and tidy little corner is so inspiring! (for me to clean or create, I'm not sure what).

Heya kiddo! I was just working on my baskets yesterday and today! So happy to see your cute and happy baskets. I've got all the medium blocks done and am finishing up with the mini blocks. But, um, I still have numerous basket handles to do on the L-O-N-G baskets and the taller baskets...kind of putting those off. It's also Lifesaver Jellybean season. Hurrah! Or not so hurrah because when I have too much sugar, my mind seems to go blank. :-) Happy basketing!

Love the baskets, especially the striped handles. Where did the pattern come from? For Valentine's Day, I bought red I Heart You peeps for my grandsons. They loved them!
