Finishing up my report of Quilt Night from last Tuesday are the quilts from Jina Barney. Jina is a member of our talented Alpine Quilt Group and has been since the beginning 20 years ago. Jina (on right) brought a legacy of quilting to our town and now to producing a fabric line with Christiensen's Wholesale and their Alpine Fabrics. Above she is showing her first line of fabric. This sample quilt is made with Jina's first fabric edition. It was exciting to hear about Jina's years of quilting and the success it has brought her to this point. This flimsy is made with one of the new lines Jina is producing. She uses designs from scrap booking paper and the designs are then made into fabrics. I've long since thought so many wonderful designs like this could be fabric. And Jina is doing that. Clever. Jina brought a beautiful sampling of her 20 years to show along with slides from Pittsburgh Quilt Market and samples of her up and coming 9 lines! Wow. Below discover Jina's lovely creations. She's living a dream. Jina started out only hand quilting but now quilts all her own quilts on a short arm Pfaff on a frame. She's good! It was a lovely night and we all cheer Jina on as she represents Alpine as a local success. I knew Jina had talent but before her trunk show I just had no idea how deep that talent runs!
Thanks for the Show and Tell from Jina. Kim told me about her the other night, and I went and checked out her company blog. Pretty stuff, and yeah! success for one more local!
What an incredibly talented woman! I love every one of her quilts. I'm glad she's living her dream - good for her! She's certainly an inspiration to me.

Thanks for posting the pictures from Alpine quilt group. I wasn't able to come last time and I was having withdrawl. There are some really talented ladies and I love seeing what they do!
What an awesome array of quilty goodness. I only hope that I can finish up half that many quilts. I really liked the blue/white. I have been attracted to the two tone ones here lately and I must get one figured out in my mind to do one!! That Jina is one talented lady!!
Words can barely describe what a talented quilter she is! It would take me a year at this pace just to make one of those gorgeous quilts! How wonderful that she has a fabric line! Cheers!
Whoa - I am without speech - those quilts are magnificent, amazing and awesome. What a treat to sit there and have such wonderful eye candy. Thanks for the show and tell.
