The rick rack is a velvet rick rack, hard to see in the picture but it is really sweet. I dusted off my rolled hem foot to finish off the edges. It was fun and fast. Now I have to figure out what to wear it with. I guess I don't have much in orange.
Just FYI - Mr. Hive's first day was good but overwhelming. He said he felt like he was drinking out of a fire hose. I know he is up to the challenge. Thanks everyone.

Olive green pants maybe with a white blouse and let the orange speak for itself...maybe some orange earrings.
Woo hoos again for Mr. Hive. I was over whelmed the first year I started here...I think I am still overwhelmed.
Lovely fabric, Fab colour.
The scarf is lovely. Orange seems to be the "new black" as the saying goes. Speaking of sayings, I had never heard the fire hose one and I laughed out loud on that one! I think I've been drinking out of a firehose for several years with family health issues. I'm looking to take just a sip or two this next year. :-)
I always like blue and orange together. I love that ric rac. I will have to be on the lookout for some velvet ric rac. I find myself using it more and more.
lovely, Nanette. They are so expensive too.
wear it with black, brown, olive.
The scarf is lovely and I have every confidence you'll find something to wear it with! :)
I had a boss tell me years ago that no one liked change. I argued with him that I did like it, but I've found out over the years that he was right. It's hard to do something new or in a different way, but your husband has a house full of love and encouragement behind him and he'll do fine.
Hugs,
Elaine
Nanette, I hope it gets easier for your husband. Changing jobs or everyday events is so hard. I know when I changed jobs, I would come home with the worse headache and I knew it was just pressure.
Love the orange scarf, take a picture when you wear it. It's going to look great.

Hope your dear husband adjusts, it just takes time I think. I love the new orange and green...hmmm, weren't those around in the seventies too? Seems fresh and new!
Love your scarf...keep sewing...I love to see your projects! And well wishes for Mr. Hive...I'm sure everything will be great!
pretty scarf! lol on mr. hive's choice of words...he'll be okay once he gets the hang of everything...
It's beautiful! Maybe you just need to go shopping for new clothes?
Glad to hear Mr Hive's first day was good. And hopefully each day will get a little better each time.
Darling scarf! I agree with Katy...new clothes!! I too wish happy days ahead for Mr. Hive!!
I would suggest earthy colours like browns and olives. Teamed with white, off-white or cream. However I am sure once you start looking that you will find something suitable.
All the best for Mr Hive.
I have awarded you with a lovely award. Please stop by my blog to find out what.
