Some Sweet Gifts

Okay you know by now that my birthday was this week. I was really trying to keep it on the down low because at my age a quiet day is a celebration all by itself. But with 8 kids, I'm kidding myself if I think I can keep anything a secret. It was a really nice day and I spent it mostly relaxing.

Sometimes blogging is bragging but if I didn't show lovely things then it wouldn't be fun to look at all the pictures. Right? Okay so be warned, good stuff is coming and you might be envious.
A fabulous green and tan canvas bag is perfect for summer. It is thick and stands right up where you set it down. And if I spill inside, I can wipe it out. Plus great bath and body products and 2 wonderful books. I have already used or started reading all of them.
In classic red this cake plate is a perfect addition to my display dishes. I love the sweet little birdies sitting on the edge of the plate. I probably won't dare use it for cake but isn't it cute holding these 2 delicious cupcakes. I already put the pedestal plate in the entryway with cute stuff on top. This will totally go with everything I have.
Fabric, yep. A gift bag full of great fabrics, bee buttons and bee cards with my name on them. I love to use things with my name on them. Great stuff and great stashers.
I pretty much was in shock when I saw the hand made Raggedy Ann and Andy. The workmanship is unsurpassed. They are so so cute. I will treasure them. And vintage quilt blocks. Swooning here. I love the fabrics and I just have to admire them and wonder who was the person that made the blocks, where did she live, where did she get the fabric, and what did she look like? She was talented for sure. I know I probably shouldn't use the blocks but I will anyway. I want to be able to have them out to enjoy.
And fabric, fabric, fabric. Seriously, I could get fabric everyday of my life and I'd be happy. This stack includes some plains that I really needed, vintage pieces and a fat quarter set of vintage sheets. I'm dreaming of things to make. The bed linens are so buttery soft. Also in the picture is that thing of beauty - the fabulous peachy red Hobo clutch in quilted patent leather. Really it is so adorable and it is a great size. I am enjoying it already.
Here is the cute polka dot organizer for anything from cosmetics to sewing supplies. Actually it will be perfect for taking on the road to a class. And gardenia body wash with a sweet fragrance - who needs cologne after using that!
This wonderful gift basket made it to my house. A treasure of goodies lies within. The Pure Grace soap is pure wonderful. I love the sweeter than Ivory soapy smell with a hint of lavender. I've wondered what this brand was like for a while now. I highly recommend it. Also a big fat charm pack in reproduction fabrics. Fun stuff. And that wrapped package inside I didn't take a picture of because when I ripped it open I immediately dug into it and used it. So, just know that if I showed you what was inside that box, you'd really be jealous. It is amazing.

There is more, but I think I'll save a bit back so I don't give you overload. I didn't name who all the gifts were from. I hope they know I appreciate them for more than just their gifts to me. They are my family and my friends. I appreciate the relationships and the thoughtfulness the gifts represent, most. My mom always used to say "That's too good for me!" When we gave her gifts. I used to think that was a silly thing to say. But now I know how she felt and I feel the same way. Thank you all so much. And thanks for all the sweet birthday wishes from my blog friends. It was nice to hear from so many of you.

I love the charm pack! My daughter gave me one like it for Mother's Day. I quickly ran down to the quilt shop and bought another because I liked it so well. I matched up two squares and made a windmill quilt. It turned out so cute! I'll send you a picture of the flimsy by e-mail sometime. Love you. Glad you had a great b-day. Love Tricia

I know you're going to think this is really weird, but just this morning (as I was on my way to an antique quilt auction)this running thought passed my mind of "hmm...I wonder when Nanette's birthday is?" It must have been the antique quilts and blocks, and knowing how you like vintage things. Go figure!!!

It looks like you had a great birthday. I agree with Pam, you're a lovely person that deserves everything you recieved.
Happy Birthday!
