What did I do on my Christmas Vacation?

I know. I totally abandoned the blog over the holidays. I mostly relaxed and took it really easy. I hardly looked at my computer. Horrible self incriminating photo that my kids took. Here are Mr. Hive and me after some of the more tiring holiday festivities. It's worth a laugh because I seriously did a lot of this. It doesn't help that I had a cold the past week though, in my defense.

Mr. Hive and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on the 29th. That was nice. Thirty years!!! Holy Cow. Now that makes me feel ancient.
I know 30 years is supposed to be the pearl anniversary. But I was very happy celebrating with leather.

Back to Christmas.
Here is a Christmas morning shot before breakfast. You can see various stages of morning people in our family. Whitney is confused. Chelsey is in denial/hiding. Allison is sleeping. And Mason is always the camera hog clown.

I realize though I didn't take many photos in the last weeks. But I thought I would show you some of my Christmas loot. Prepare for shameless materialistic glee.
Love my scissors, pincushion from Terri and my key chain from my sister Michelle.
Lovely stuff from Rae Ann.
Sweetness from Carrie.
Scarves and fabulous lotion.
I love dishes. Wonderful gifts from my family.
Organization, packaging and record keeping, all fun things.
I have been catching up on reading during the holidays and lots of cooking of course. The cook book is from Laura and the other books from my sister Paula. The Pioneer Woman cookbook is fabulous. I really recommend it.
Bees!, jewelry, lotion, picture frame and cute towels. My family does know what I like.

This was definitely used during the break. The scrubbers are soft and woolly.
Dear Flora gave me a Jim Shore quilter statue to add to my other one and now I have 2! And there are more things I didn't photo or have used/put away. I am plenty spoiled.
But this is really what Christmas is about though. Dear Sweet Allison clutching her several little toys and snoozing in a warm blanket.

I actually did do some sewing and got some new fabric. So I'll show more of that later this week.

Now I have to catch up with all my blog friends and answer my emails! My inbox and google reader are stuffed.

Alison is so sweet looking as she holds on to her toys.

You got some really awesome sweetness given to you. Way to go for taking some time off from the norm. I did the same thing. No sewing got done, or much of anything else. I spent most days after Christmas playing wii with the children.

The blue dish look like Polish pottery. Very pretty. I love Polish pottery. Lots of neat things and the red leather is wonderful. Every woman should have a red purse. There is something about it that just lifts the spirits.

I didn't, but if I did take a picture of our favorite holiday activity, I would have a matching photo with me in my pajamas curled up under the blankets doing nothing. I love that about the holidays..Oh and Happy Anniversary!

That first picture is hysterical Nanette! Did the kids dare you to put it on your blog? Good for you -- you took the week off! I'm going to try to remember to do that next year - I spent too much time on the computer 'cause I was afraid of the overstuffed google reader. Not happ'nin next year. Happy New Year!!!

Wonderful gifts from your family - they sound like keepers. I love that red handbag. I bought a fuschia colored one a few weeks ago although it is very bright for me, I love it, makes me happy everyday use it. Baby Allison - such a sweetie.

YAY...you're back. I kept looking and looking and LOOKING...and....NO Nanette yet!!! LOL I love your gifts and had to laugh at the snoozing photo. I can sympathize with you not feeling well as I kept pushing myself (while sick) and ended up MORE sick with some lung issues that aren't cleared up yet. *sigh* The doctor thought I had pneumonia, but...luckily, I didn't. SO...take care of yourself, okay? I love your Jim Shore's!!!

Allison looks so beautiful asleep among her toys.
Hope you fought off your cold.
