Fabric Fairy and Fabric Friday Wool

I'll start off with a sweet little fabric story just perfect for fabric Friday. Yesterday when I got home from work it was late and dark. I reached in my mailbox and felt something kind of soft and fluffy inside an envelope. When I got into the house I looked at the little pile of mail and there was an envelope with a lovely surprise inside.
On the outside of the envelope it said "From the Fabric Fairy". Inside was this beautiful fat quarter with the most whimsical birdie print. I love it! The character of the birds and the sweet colors and design of the bird cages captivated me. Instantly I knew just what I wanted to do with the fabric. But when!??? The fabric is just a delight. Thank you Fabric Fairy, whoever you are! I'm pretty excited to know that the Fabric Fairy visited my house today. I'm too old for the Tooth Fairy (well, hopefully I don't lose any more teeth!) so I think the Fabric Fairy is just what a quilting girl dreams of.
So while I'm at the Bryce retreat I am going to take a wool bag class from Paula and Sherry. Paula and Sherry live in my little town and are some of the founding mothers of our local quilt group. I haven't really had a lot of experience working with wool so I thought taking this class (above) would be a great opportunity. Isn't the bag so cute! I really think I want to make the bag on the far right. These are the materials I've picked out for my bag. I've got all the supplies, I think, except for the plexi-glass piece that will fit into the bottom. (So Paula and Sherry, if you are reading this, please sign me up for the plexi-glass piece for the bottom of this bag. I've called about it only once without success but I keep forgetting to call again. Thanks.)
Here is an up close showing the texture of the wool and the lovely lining/accent fabric. I know the colors are not very spring-like but they are my favorite colors and I love black tweed.I also have this needlepoint fabric that I've been wanting to use. I think it works well with these 2 faux wool/thick flannels. Originally I was going to try to use these materials since I happened to already have them but they really won't work. But they would really make a cute bag, no?
These handles are my favorites. No sewing. They come ready to nail into a bag when the bag is completed. Hammer not included.

I love the idea of not sewing the handles on. Are they pretty easy to find?

I'll definitely take the Fabric Fairy!!!! I love what she delivered.

The bags are so cute. You will have fun. I don't think I have seen those handles before, but they sound like a great idea.

Your spring showers quilt on your sidebar is adorable. Do you know if the pattern is still available...or did you design it yourself?

I love the needlepoint combo and the bag on the far right is adorable. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these choices.

So what exactly does a girl have to do to make friends with the fabric fairy? J/K.

Absolutely love the red needlpoint material - I can't wait to see the finished bag. Those handles are awesome - they'd look great on a purse I am working on and sew easy too. Can you share with us on who makes the handles?

Well how nice of the fabric fairy. Our local store has that fabric and I have not bought any because I don't know what to do with it but I love it.
Can I ask what you are going to do with yours?
