Finally . . . cabinet doors

I know this is nothing creative or even mildly interesting to people but to us its monumental. Our kitchen has been without cabinet doors for 5 months now and they were finally delivered tonight!!! They are beautiful, smooth, shiny and brand new looking. And the aroma of the new stain and finish is nearly intoxicating. (But I love the smell of a Sharpie, too.) Now we have to match them up to what goes where and on what cabinet. No easy task, its a big kitchen. Its very exciting to be getting our house back in order after all the commotion of the past 5 months. Now if the insurance check comes to cover everything in the next week (as promised) I'll be doubly happy. Our cabinet maker is an old friend. He made the cabinets for the house when it was built 14 years ago and even though he doesn't do much cabinet work anymore he took them on to restore them after the flood this past summer. He didn't really have the time to do all the work so Dave and the kids have been stripping and sanding them at his shop. Yesterday they were stained and sprayed. Now they are done! Yayyyy. - nanette

Wow they look great. If they would only walk to their assigned cabinet and install themselves. Fingers crossed for your insurance settlement. Love ya

Finally! yeah! the house is almost to pre-flood condition!(although it is actually closer to "pre-children lived in" condition.)
