Fabric Friday - Orange for the start of Fall

I'm already enjoying my new stash system in my freshly clean sewing room. It gives me an improved eye when pulling fabric for a project and it will help me use what I already have and love first. So, in honor of September and upcoming fall (at least where I live) I thought I'd pull my stack of oranges to show today. I heard on the news that September 1 officially ends the summer weather season. So bring on the extra quilts for our beds!
As Natalie and I folded fabric I realized I had less orange than other fabrics, even though I really like orange. I just think there isn't as much out there but I also think many of us will be turning to orange as weather cools.
The orange dot is my favorite in the stack. It is a Lecien dot.
I really like orange and pink together. So the rose on orange pin dot is my favorite in this group. It is a LakeHouse print.
So I'm sure after that you know already which one is my favorite in this group - yep, the tulips on orange. Love those, another Japanese design.
I think this 4 some shows the color range in the orange fabrics. From rusty, to gold to bright orange - I love them all.

I just received a package from RJR fabrics with 30 yards! I have 3 projects due for fall market before the end of the month. Wish me luck. You might not see a whole lot of me here. I hope I am able to manage my time.

Everyone have a great, safe long weekend.

so nice to be so organized...I start out that way but then the fabric just seems to jumble itself up when I am not looking!
You are right, it is hard to find nice oranges....the color does remind me of fall

Terrific orange collection. 30 yards of fabrics, if I got 30 yards of fabric in the mail I'd faint, from happiness then again from a panic attack.

Loving your stack of oranges--especially the dotty ones! I used to avoid orange, but in the last year or so, I find myself turning to it more and more. It really is a happy color, and I really want to make happy quilts!

30 yards! Wow!! That poor delivery guy must have a sore back today! ;-)

You know your readers will all be here waiting for you when you have time to say hi!

Orange has been my favorite color in fabrics this last year. I use it like you use red. So fun.

Sounds like you are going to be "sew" busy, Nanette! Have fun with all that fabric!! You may not have time to play with the orange fabrics but they will be good come October. That's the month for orange in my book! I'm not crazy about orange fabrics but I do love pumpkins. I'm working on a wool on cotton stitchery that has lots of orange in it and it is so "outside the color box" for me. It will be a nice fall piece when it's finished...
like next fall maybe :-)

I'm always short on Blue fabrics-but I think it's just different trends coming and going that attract my attention. And the seasons make a difference too-I'm always more in the mood to shop/sew in the fall!)

I was so inspired by your Natalie helping you get organized that I reorganized all my fabric and even gave away 2 big bags to D.I! My friend Nancy says that is "old boyfriend" fabric. You know...fabric that you used to REALLY, REALLY like and now...not so much!
