At first, I only slightly remembered making this little table topper last Christmas season. Then after looking at it I remember thinking it was "too busy" and didn't finish it. However, looking at it with fresh eyes, I decided I like it.
I still think it is busy but as a fan of most things busy I decided it wasn't overly so. I'm going to machine quilt it, bind it and finish it up for a gift. I do wish I had put a chimney on the house though. What is Santa going to do without a chimney?
I've been wanting to send my cousin in Florida something for the holidays and this little project may work out for that. It won't take long to finish. I'm pretty glad I didn't throw it away because I've been known to do things like that.
Hope your Thanksgiving week is going well.

Listen missy do not EVER throw away any of you work!!!
It is just darling!
Nanette, I love this little quilt. It is busy but so is Christmas!!
It's very, very cute! Santa's wonderland is very busy - everywhere you look there's something to see. And, I know for a fact that Santa will walk in the front door. LOL
Its so cute your cousin will love it..
The cottage in the trees looks like it's "nestled" in the snow, something your cousin probably doesn't see in Florida. Better to have snow come in fabric than the real thing! :-) Also, good thing you didn't throw it away. It's too cute to toss!
This is super cute! Glad you're going to finish it.
No. No. No. Not too busy at all! I love it.
I love it! And don't ever throw your work away... I'm sure there are at least a few willing blog readers who would love to finish something you started! LOL
Jennifer :)
Such a fun quilt and I love the stockings on the roof! Have you been to LAUGH LOVE QUILT, she is doing a giveaway with houses, may be right up your alley with how cute this is! From one Utah girl to another, Happy Monday!!!!
So fun! It's not too busy - I love busy! Isn't it funny how we can revisit a project and it's completely fresh again. UFOs are a good thing sometimes.
Why not applique a chimney on so Santa can come to Fl.
Marianne
you can applique a chimney but since it is going to Florida why not applique a palm tree instead?
it is adorable Nanette.
ohhhhhh!!!!!! I am so currently obsessed with houses and trees in quilts I cant even handle hoe cute this is!
I bet you could applique an adorable chimney very quickly! It is interesting to see how time affects our perception, isn't it?
Precious! I'm glad you didn't throw it away, too!
Christmas is busy Nanette, so it's perfect..Poor santa, no chimney, you could applique one one..
It's gorgeous!
Oooh -- that is adorable!! Santa could always sneak in through a window! ;-)
It is very cute and Santa will find a way to leave presents:D
Everything is merry about this little house! Kids in the windows, stockings on the roof, deer in the woods and lovely green trees... I'm so glad you didn't throw it away... it is too precious!
I love it...and I completely know the feeling..it's fun to find things we've almost forgotten about--like uncovering our own treasures. I've got a few projects from years past I want to finish up for gifts too!
I love the block. I'm sure there are a line up of us that would be glad to take it off your hands. I love the bright fabrics.
I would recognize that as a Nanette piece anywhere! Not too busy at all.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We will actually be in Salt Lake, too.
YOU have UFO"s say it isn't sew...I agree with these delightful ladies up there.....we will finish it for you ...lol
I can't believe you were thinking of throwing your work out. It's way too nice. It will make a neat gift, homemade items are always special.
Oh Nanette, it's adorable with or without the chimney. If it's really getting to you, perhaps you could add an applique chimney for Santa. A wonky one sticking out would be cute. It's always fun pulling out old UFO's, definitely a treasure and with new eyes, they are usually more enjoyable to work on.
This is so cute... I just hosted 12 UFO busting tips ... loved seeing a UFO get finished!
I'm so glad you didn't throw this away too! So charming and I just know your cousin will love it!
