Personal Flag Quilt American Flag Block

With a family wedding over the weekend I was able to only make a few blocks over the weekend.
So I decided (this is swiped from Amy's blog and is Amy's quilt) to make my 3 USA flags in my personal flag quilt.
I used all the same star fabric but mixed in some reds and lights for the strips with different fabrics.
The blocks are 15"x20" so they come together really fast.
I'm excited to get 3 of my country flags done now with only the flag from Slovakia now still to accomplish.
I met Lori for a quick lunch on Friday. She brought me the sweetest fat quarters from the new line of New Old Fabric from Lecien that she got for me at Material Girls. Love them. They will be perfect in my flag quilt. I already used one of them. Thanks Lori.

I love your quilt. Do you have a pattern for it? I would really like to make it. Thanks for sharing--you are one talented lady. Julie

Love this! Same question as Julie ... is there a pattern for these flag blocks? Going to have to go do a little Google searching! And what's the story behind this? You mention Slovakia, is that part of your family history? Is that how you are choosing the blocks? Fantastic!

You always find the neatest fabrics. There are some real great ones in these flags.

Those fabrics in your blocks are perfect for your very own american flags. The flowered, teapots and the flour sack, all so adorable.

Thanks to Amy I'm making this same flag quilt for my daughter's wedding in 2012. She has been living in London for 4 years and is marrying a Brit. I'm using her wedding colors of sherbet and yellow. I made the 3 American flags and 1 British flag block this weekend.

I love this. Sometimes when I look for a small quilt to make for a boy, this would do it. Your colors are perfection!
