Halloween Blocks Found

I've been thinking that since it is October I really should get out my blocks from 2009 Halloween Block Swap hosted by Jane.  And I've been watching Belinda's progress with her blocks, so that made me think about finding where I stashed my blocks since last year.
After cleaning out my sewing room a few months ago I knew the blocks were not in my studio.  And then when I was thinking about where they could be, after talking to Belinda, I realized I had put them away in my Christmas box stored in another room.  And I found that was exactly where they were hiding.  Half the blocks are 9 patch blocks and the other half are Halloween scenes.
I decided the 9 patch blocks were slightly too large to leave as 9 patches so I cut them up to make disappearing 9 patch blocks.
All the 9 patch blocks are all made with 2 fabrics and I think this makes the disappearing 9 patch look is kind of unique.
I'm really happy how they turned out.  But since I cut them each apart, this left the disappearing blocks slightly smaller than the applique Halloween blocks. I just trimmed the other blocks on all sides to match.  I am working on some proposals his week so I set the Halloween blocks aside to sew up over next weekend.

Oooh, I love the effect you got from the two color blocks! Clever girl, you. It will be fun to see what yours turn out like. Belinda is having a great time with hers, adding words! Glad you remembered where yours were...I am on the hunt for some Australian fabrics I bought last year and don't know where they are since I moved my sewing room. Yikes!

I've never seen a disappearing 9 patch made with just 2 fabrics! That is so much fun. Now, of course, I want to drop everything and make some!
You know, I think you are going to get me in trouble!

Eager to see it when you have time to put it together. I love Halloween quilts!

Well, of course the Halloween blocks are with the Christmas stuff -- I'm sure glad your organization rivals mine. Love that cute Halloween print that is orange with the little black pumpkin faces!

Lots of cute fabrics there! It will be fun to see what it all looks like when you get it all stitched up. I'm working on Halloween projects this week. I finished a little candlemat last night and I might even get my Halloween cottages (from your Christmas cottage pattern) finished by this Halloween!

What a great idea. I just finished the binding on mine last night and TT was playing on it today like an I spy quilt. I cannot wait to see yours!

My blocks are still tucked away. I need to replace one of the feature blocks, and I really like your idea of disappearing 9 patches. That will really make a difference. I'll pull them out at my next retreat... it will be like a new project by then... hope you are well!

Love those blocks! Great idea, using only 2 fabrics for the disappearing blocks! The block looks very difficult this way. Love it!!!
