Market Projects - Fall 2010

Thanks so incredibly much to Glenna of Hollyhock Quilts and Pam of PamKittyMorning and Anna of Thimbleanna for their photos of my market projects from this past weekend in Houston. Thanks so much girls for taking photos for me. My girls always look out for me!
This is my main quilt and 2 of those hot pads on the left are mine. But I have no idea who made those placemats on the right.
I was really glad that RJR incuded info about me and my trusty machine quilting friends.
This is the little table topper I made.
Hmm I didn't know this pattern was going to be a free download. I learned something! ;-). I assume that will coincide with the release of the fabric because my patterns are not done yet. ha
And here is my table runner. I made more projects using their fabric but they were not in the booth at market.

The month of September is still somewhat of a blurr for me as I had 30 days to make 10 individual items for market. It is always good to push ourselves and see what we can do. I was a few days late for my deadline with the last couple items, but I did the best I could.

"Everything But the Kitchen Sink 2011" is a fabric line coming out from RJR fabrics in early spring 2011. There are 45 fabrics in this line and a chef panel featuring 8 different reproduction vingettes from 30's embroidery designs. The 'Kitchen Sink' line naturally falls into a kitchen theme. And I love kitchen fabrics, 30's fabrics and kitchen designs.

My main quilt is a combination of applique, block construction and the chef panel scenes. Wren Woodland of Highland did such a fantastic job. The quilt was really fun to design and make.
Another shot of the table topper. I liked making Dresden baskets to balance out the chef designs. This was quilted by Wendy at Eagle Mountain Quilting. Again, it was fun to construct.
I had lots of little projects, and I don't even have photos of all of them. I was in such an incredible hurry to mail, I didn't take final photos of everything. This is a clothespin holder.
Using the chef panel designs I made easy pot holders. Then to try to show off more of the fabric I made patchwork binding.I made 2 tea towels by just fussy cutting a chef panel and then top stitching it to a flower sack towel. I covered the edges with another row of rick rack and finished off the edge with binding.Using my "All Dressed Up" pattern, I made a baby sized quilt. This 'Kitchen Sink' line has some juvenile novelty fabrics included. Again, Wren's quilting was fantastic. This photo was taken as I was hand stitching binding before mailing it off (next day air!).I just have to show you a little bit of my embellishment. It is always my favorite part to fussy up parts of my quilts. Each dress is unique. This fabric line was a great inspiration and worked really well for my patterns.I also made a bag using my "Mixed Bag" pattern. I used premade handles for it to hurry things up. I can't believe I took a photo of the back!

It is a great opportunity to have projects I've designed and sewn featured in a booth at quilt market. I enjoyed using this new fabric line. All the 'Kitchen Sink' lines have been favorites of mine for years.

These are wonderful. You are so talented. Did you get any sleep in September? Maybe it was good my brain left me and we got dates mixed up for my guild meeting. Looks like you had enough on your plate.

Nanette all those projects are just out of this world. I can't believe you did all those and then has our Breton girls retreat. That quilt is breathtaking and the table runner also. Can't say enough about the All Dressed UP quilt. I would have loved using that clothes pin bag as I hung out clothing up on the roof top of old home. All I can say is unbelievable.
