Halloween Exchange Quilt - Intended mistakes

I officially HATE the New Bloggggerrr!!!  Oh my the trouble I've seen.  And today to show you what I've been through I left the last photo the crazy way Blogger made it.  Not to mention I can't move things around and can't write script where I want to.  Argh!
Calm blue ocean...calm blue ocean.   This pic is supposed to be at the bottom.  And I'm sick of fighting with this thing.  I know I should change venues but I have enough learning on my plate at the moment so I'll be content with complaining.  This quilt is from Jane's Halloween Exchange 2009.  In some of the blocks I had to take the embellishments off previous to taking it to the quilter.  I'm saving them and they'll be back during binding.
This is how I sent my blocks - mix mash.  I didn't place the blocks in any set pattern and the deconstructed 9 patch are not even all set the same way.  It is Halloween after all, no rules.
And in the spirit on no rules I put my bat hanging upside down in the bottom corner right.  I thought it would be fun to put the cat and bat next to each other, too.
Since I'm not going to use this black and white for my butterfly quilt I figured it would work for this busy Halloween quilt.  I hoped it would tone it down a bit.  And I think it did.  Not that you can tell in the next picture!

I can't even get underneath it to write text.  So I'm done.  Can you believe it loaded my photo this way?  Going back to old Blogger.  grrr                           -nanette

oh, i'm so sorry for your blogger woes. I know with the pictures, I have had luck when I click on the picture (in editing mode) and hit CTL X. that cuts it and then i put my cursor where I want the pic after whatever writing i have and I hit CTL V, and it copies it there.

You probably know all this. I did just notice that when you are clicking on a photo in edit mode you can make it different sizes, which I love.

i like the new blogger. hmmmmm.
i like calm blue oceans. :)

Love the Halloween quilt! So far, I am still using old blogger on my blog but that can't last forever. I hate "learning curves" as they take away from my sewing time. LOL!

You sound like me a few years ago when I was fighting blogspot. I gave up and went the WP route.

Anyways, try using Windows Live Writer? http://explore.live.com/windows-live-writer?os=other (if thatdoesn't work, a search should find it) I've been very happy with it.

It's free, easy and works great. It's supposed to work for all platforms. (of course if you don't use windows it probably won't help you)

Hmmmm...I thinlk I just delurked. I'm not a quilter, but I looovvveee drooling over all of your pretties via my reader for a while now.

Good luck

I still use old blogger and from what I have been hearing, I will not change until I have to!

It looks like Blogger has Gremlins? I hope it gets straightened out. SO frustrating! :)

I have no idea if I am using new blogger or old blogger but have not had any problems with placing photos lately, or having them turn. I love your Halloween quilt==what a fun exchange :)

Cute Halloween quilt!

When I click on the giant pic that Blogger makes, I get a choice of sizes and just choose medium, but I agree it is annoying that they automatically make it so big!

I'm with A Slice of Life here -

I downloaded Windows Live Writer and do all my posting through that now because Blogger is so Bluggeringly Useless now!

All I do is leave out my tags until I publish and then edit again. Much easier. You can put pictures EXACTLY where you want them, not to mention text :)

Love the Halloween quilt - esp. those witch's legs!! :)

Maybe if we all complain together, they will let us go back to the old format until they fix this one to be more user friendly.

oooh, I love complaining. Seriously, it relieves stress, no matter what anyone else in my family thinks. Love the halloween blocks. Maybe blogger is misbehaving for halloween, possesed or haunted or something.

"Calm blue ocean" ha! "Serenity NOW!" Sorry about the blog troubles but you have to admit; it's pretty darned cool that we live all over the world and can communicate the way we do. So there's some glitches now and again, right? LOVE the quilt. Almost makes me want to celebrate more holidays than just Christmas ;-)

I just recently posted about how Blogger is making me crazy. I waste so much time trying to get anything done. Grrrr...

Love the black and white checks!

The nice thing about reading your post and all the comments, is that I now know I am not the only one who has trouble with pictures! On a positive note, at least the problems are with blogger and not the quilt, which looks great!

Blogger was closed for updates this evening a while. I think it took me half a dozen times to get a guest post completed due to picture issues earlier this week. Tomorrow's another day =) but I like the calm blue ocean!!
Best Wishes,
Heather

The quilt looks great! Sorry you are having photo issues. What I do is upload my photos to picnik.com, where editing is free, then save them directly to flickr (the unedited photo is saved to my computer first.) Now flickr has just changed, I used to use the blogger photo loader thingy with my flickr photos, but now I don't have to do that at all, flickr has a place where you just get the code for whichever size of your photo you want (I use medium 500 px usually), and then you just paste the code into the blog post where you want it. Try it! :)

What a cute quilt, Freda. I've been working on getting up a blog for about 2 months. Well, I haven't been working on it very hard, have I? I don't have time to sew and play on here like I would like. I need to grow some extra arms or something. LOL

Jast when I get blogger sorted out, they change things around. I think I have it figured out now and seem to be doing ok. It's nice to see Halloween projects since we don't really celebrate it here like you.

The quilt looks great! Maybe today is the day that I pull out my set of the blocks from Jane's swap! Now, take a deep breath - I could feel you fuming from UT to IL! lol "I feel your pain"!

I am still using old blogger and will continue to use it as long as I can. I hate change when it comes to the computer.

I feel your pain lol! I just switched to new blogger to give it another chance...what is the deal??? I am trying out windows live writer and it's much better and easy --not a lot of new learning. There is a little though. I may go back to old blogger again. I don't know what made me try it again. Too optimistic I guess :)

Oh and I love the Halloween quilt!!!!

Love your Halloween quilt - especially the pumpkin blocks. I have very fond memories of the three Halloween's we spent in the USA. Halloween is slowly gaining in popularity here.

Hope your blogger woes settle down soon. Touch wood - I haven't had any problems so far....
