New Stash Quilt

Keeping with the stash theme and using what I have on hand, I started a new quilt over the last weekend. These "Mary E" fabrics and the American Jane pattern were given to me for my birthday and I've been anxious to use them. I've always wanted to make a grandmother's flower garden but haven't yet so I figured this is the next best thing. I call it faux grandmother's flower garden. I didn't want to use fabric just from that line- kind of hard for me to like doing that. So I have mixed in similar colors and patterns of fabric from my stash along with the ME fabric.

Its strip quilting at its cutest I think. This pattern is so darling and innovative. Its really fun deciding what groups of 3 prints to strip together. Cutting them into wedges is fun too. The colors and prints are my favorite types and working on it has been pure enjoyment.

What a fun quilt that will be! Those fabrics are lovely. I'm making a grandmother's flower garden right now (very slowly). But I really, really like the idea of a "faux" and fast one! :)

I just LOVE the Merry Go Round pattern! The ME fabrics will be wonderful for it! I began a Christmas quilt last year with the pattern but it sputtered out. I'm planning to get the pattern out again SOON with some brighter and more cheerful Christmas fabrics. Fun, fun, fun!

I am not sure why this is a FAUX grandmother's flower garden quilt (guess I will have to look up the real deal) but this is sooo cute! I guess I don't understand why you don't want to use all ME fabric.
What Des asked - do you use a special ruler? Is this an easy pattern? It doesn't look like it would be but LOOK AT THE PROGRESS you have made! WOWEEE! I can't wait to see the finished product.

I bought that pattern at Shop Hop and I can't wait to get started. I have a stash of fat quarters I want to use with it. My goal is to use what I have already. Further, I've been practicing staying out of TJ Maxx so I don't spend money this month! Can't wait to see your quilt at quilt group.

hey! I recently started fooling around with this pattern but are you having trouble getting them all flat? I 'm using a fig tree line, very orange and green. Did you act on my message on your phone mail? I hope so!
All this stuff is great, and Laura! You two kill me.xo
