Working on . . .

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. Thank you all for your nice Easter wishes to me and my family and for your congratulatory wishes for Natalie's engagement.

Whew, did the weekend go as fast for you as it did for me? Whooosh. And it is over. I did get a few things accomplished. And so I thought I'd show you what I've been working on.
A sign in the form of a quilt. This was fun to plan and make. I still need to machine quilt it and bind it but it is all prepped and ready to go. More about that when it is finished. And some dishcloths. That waffle cotton I showed you on Friday turned into these. Details later.

It is spring break this week for my school aged kids and I'll be headed south later in the week so you'll hear mostly just buzzing at the hive.

Neat little Freda's Hive quilt. Hmmm, will be waiting for the "more about it when it is finished". Love the dishcloths. I'll have to look for some waffle cotton as that would be great to make some to match my kitchen colors. Enjoy the spring break with your kids!!

Can't wait to hear "the rest of the story". You've got my attention, Nanette. Love the waffle cotton. I think it would make neat backing for a baby quilt.

Enjoy the Spring break with your kiddies.

Cute cute Freda's have quilt - so of course I'm also wondering what the rest is as well as those adorable dishcloths - how cute are those. Congrats on the upcoming wedding - that's awesome. Enjoy your spring break - doesn't seem that long ago it was Christmas break - wow time is flying.

Hugs - Karen

Look at you, not only did you have Easter but you also got some time to sew. Love your Freda's Hanging and the waffle dishcloths are wonderful. Is waffle cloth absorbent and where does one find it?

Cute quilt -- and those dishcloths are wonderful -- I love that waffleweave fabric!

I just love waffle fabric AND seersucker...was it hard to sew on...I had a few moments with some seersucker one time and my stitching wasn't to my satisfaction...???
Your little 'quilty' sign is going to be great!!!

V. here...
Your quilt/sign is so appropriate! I love the little hive. I have a child's tea set with little bee hives on it that I got in the early 90's . I haven't dug it out since we moved(3 yrs ago!). Oooh!! I just blew the sign picture up and see all the cute bees on the border!!I like beehives. And your dishcloths are way too cute. I love them. Does Natalie get them? Have a fun time down South. V.

Have a great week.
I just bought some plain towels made from that fabric. I love the binding on them. Where did you get the fabric?

Love the sign - very cute. I've done some dishcloths. Learned after the first few that I had to prewash the waffleweave. After that they were fun to make!

The sign is fabulous, very bright and cheery!! With all the rain we got over the Easter weekend I managed to get quite a bit of stitching done too!! You're right though, it's all over waaaay too soon ;o).
Hugs,

Hi nanette-
Okay again we are same-same! I just made some of those dishcloths
(only I did towels) a couple of weeks ago.I found a 6-pac of white towels with a nice weave at Ross. They were marked at $4.00.
I bought them and stitched fabric around the edges just like yours.
I took a pic but havn't posted it yet on my blog.
I love the fabric on yours. I also love your quilt sign, and the
"cliffhanger" ending in your post:)
