Natalie's Lemon Slouch Cardigan

For Christmas last year my mom got me a copy of Suzan Mischer's Greetings from Knit Cafe. As I paged through the book and ear-marked projects to add to my queue, I was struck by Helen Roux's Slouchy Cardigan and how it reminded me of something my older sister, Natalie, would like to wear. So, I added it to my list and decided to make it for her.

Knowing her yarn preferences, I knew she would want a very soft yarn. As I mentioned in my post last week this resulted in a surpirse project for me when I picked out a yarn that wouldn't suit her needs. Luckily - visiting my local yarn store (the Unraveled Sheep - in Sandy) I found the perfect yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca in a bright yellow.
I was very impressed with how well the pattern was written, and despite the small sport gauge of the yarn, how fast it knitted up. With the exception of the pockets that were added it ended up exactly as the pictures illustrated in the pattern. I was very excited. I might eventually make one for myself!

I can't wait to add this to my ravelry account (If you're interested my username is LizzyLemon, since I am such a fan of the show 30 Rock)-

This sweater is just beautiful. Love the color. I really need to learn how to knit again. I did it when I was younger, but haven't stitched in years and years.

Your sweater is just beautiful! Alpaca is wonderful and very soft. If you can find baby alpaca wool it is even softer. Love it!
