Sewing with family

I was away last week on a little impromptu sewing visit.  I posted my Freda's Beehive Quilt tutorial a week back and that is the project we worked on while we were together.
I was with 2 of my sisters and my nieces.  I always have a great time with them.
We did do a tiny bit of shopping.  We needed some extra fabric so we visited a local quilt shop where I saw this doll bed.  I had this exact doll bed when I was a child.
I fell in love with this vintage quilt block.  The colors are pretty striking and I love the circle.
The border is pretty spectacular as well.  I would love to make it sometime.
Of course the "old quilts" portion of the shop was my favorite.  Old quilts never really get "old" to me.

Love the doll bed and the quilts. Glad you had fun sewing with your family. It's always more fun to sew with others. :)

I can't wait to make your Beehive block too...school will be over for me in 3 weeks, and then I'll be able to start working on projects on my to do list!

My mom has that same "Old Quilts" sign hanging in her spare bedroom. I love that vintage quilt and have one similar to it but not with that awesome border. I can see you making that one someday!
Looks like you all had a great getaway!

I love all the old quilts too, the pink and green one is gorgeous. Lucky you having a sewing day with family. My sister isn't a stitcher!

Which quilt shop has old goodies for sale? I'm up near Ogden, but on occasion I get down to Utah County and I'd love to check it out! That doll bed looks very familiar - I think my big sister had one of them - love it!

I don't think I've seen an old quilt yet that I didn't love for one reason or another. I haven't see that circle block before, it's beautiful in all of it's scrappy goodness!
