Shadow Swimming

While this may not interest many of you I had to post this for family and friends to see. Shadow is our little under 7 lb. dog that my niece Tana gave to us 3 years ago. He is a great dog and a good companion to everyone in the family and much loved. When we were on vacation Shadow came with us, of course. When the kids were in the canoe Shadow got quite concerned and nervous about "his kids" being in the middle of the water. Several times Shadow jumped in the water to swim to the canoe. The water is SO COLD. Its around 40 degrees as it is fed from a glacier. Needless to say we were worried about him being able to swim in water that cold. And not only that, this was the first time Shadow had a swim. He'd never been in water except for a bath previous to this. The funniest part of this little movie is Chelsey - the camera girl.

That's so funny - your daughter is hilarious! When my parents first visited us in Salt Lake, we took them to Vegas. My Dad had his video camera recording everything. Only problem is, when we looked at his footage we have hours of the camera pointing to the floor - he didn't know he was meant to push a button to stop recording. Makes me laugh to watch it. So typical of my Dad, and your video reminded me of that! Thanks for the memory!

Yes....this interests me! My Lil Sister dog loved to go to the lake and ride in the boat. She would hang her head over the side wanting me to hoist her over into the water. She would swim out into a little circle-cool off--then want back in where she would spend the rest of the time sitting in the bottom of the rocking boat sleepy-eyed and loving the warm sun on her damp coat. We were fishing buddies!!!

That is so cute that Shadow swam out to his girls. Chelsey's photography reminded me of my husband as he played with the video camera my sister and brother-in-law got for Christmas. He fiddled around and somehow deleted all but a few seconds of the last Christmas dinner we had with our grandparents. Funny thing is, all these years it bothered me that he had been so careless but then I discovered this summer that my sister can't remember it happened!

dude, go shadow! for such a prissy puppy, he sure is a good little swimmer. one can only wonder how long it took him to get warm though....

Pretty funny! And so deceiving -- I thought he was much bigger until she pulled him out of the water!

Hey i would just like to go on record by saying that the camara in question had some technical difficulties and proved to be extremely hard to manage so really i did the best i could and should be congradulated on being able to keep most of the footage watchable

What a brave little pup!
My lab Belle hates water and I wonder if she would even get her toes wet LOL

Oh My Gosh! I would be freaking out if Tessa did anything like this. However...I think she would. That's so great that Shadow was able to not only swim - but was that concerned about the girls. Nice Shots Chelsea! :)

I love it! I'm glad someone is as goofy as me. the post title is great, reminded me of "Night Swimming" which is a song I really like, plus I thought it was something about shadow quilting! :)
Great video!

YAY! Now you know he can swim! I don't think "our" dog, who is about the same size as Shadow, can swim...but i guess there's only one way to find out!
