Fabric Friday and Birthday Week Concludes

For someone not wanting to flaunt their birthday I sure feel like I'm parading myself this week. Ha. Oh well. I promise not to be so greedy until this time next year. It is overcast this morning so the picture colors aren't that great. But I don't think you'll mind when you see . . .I saved my "Flower Sugar" by Lecien to show for Fabulous Fabric Friday. This was a birthday gift brought from Quilt Market. I absolutely love this fabric. I've been eyeing it everywhere like here . Pam has a slew of posts about it as do others. I had read that Kathy at Pink Chalk Studio is getting some in her online store very soon. She confirmed this to me in an email. I haven't located it anywhere else and it isn't even on Etsy. So I consider myself fabulously lucky to have gotten some of it for my birthday before it really becomes available. This isn't even the entire line, this is just part of it. Feel free to scream and attack your monitor. Isn't this just beautiful. My idea of heaven would be to have top of the line sewing and quilting machines and to have endless bolts of fabric like this to play with. That thought actually motivates me to try very hard to be good (today). I love border prints. There is just so much you can do with them. I hope that border prints are going to be a new wave in fabric. It is like more bang for the buck. Can't you see a beautiful quilt bordered in that red scalloped edge above? I sure don't know yet what I'm going to do with this fabric but it is not being put on my sewing room shelf for long.Neither are these lovely vintage bed linens. I talked about them earlier in the week but I thought I'd give a better view. Aren't they so incredibly sweet. June is probably the prettiest month of the year, at least I think so. As I drive around I see the most wonderful flowers everywhere and they remind me of these lovely linens. We have enjoyed a really wet spring for Utah and everything here is so green and lush. So much fabric and not enough time. Speaking of time. Did you see Jodie's post about the new clock she has? It is hilarious. You've got to go read it. Well, after you finish my post of course. I've got to get me one of those clocks!Finishing out birthday week was a red gift bag filled with delightful treats. The magazines I'm savoring. The Fons and Porter is full of great ideas and the Quilt Sampler is the yearly spotlight of 10 quilt stores around the states. Love that issue! Plus all kinds of sweet treats and some cute dishes for the 4th of July and on. How do my friends just know my favorite things? I don't even think I've ever said that Werthers is on my list of my top favorite candies. I'm hiding them from the kids. Seriously. This arrived yesterday. Glorious isn't it.I really feel like a spoiled brat right now. But you probably already knew that about me. I love pearls and I love all the color variation in these. Sigh. Thanks for all my gifts and all the sweet birthday wishes. I am very blessed.

Back to your regularly scheduled programing folks. I am going to sew this weekend and hope I have some new stuff to show next week. It is going to rain here and I love the rain.

Wow, what an incredible birthday. My birthday is the weekend. I think I should show my family your posts. (They are wonderful to me, so I already know my birthday will be fantastic.) I love the fabrics. I love border prints for kids quilts. I like how you can use multiple colours and then give the quilt some personality with cute borders. I love the pearls too.

I am so with you on the Flower Sugar fabric. It was the ONLY thing I wanted from sample spree. I made a beeline for the Lecien table. I was so focused on getting it that I kinda dropped the ball on buying more "other" fabrics. Oh well. I'll be more together for fall market!

And what's wrong with being spoiled? Absolutely nothing!!!

More scrumptious fabric to drool over. Maybe I can find some of the Lecien fabric at the Vermont Quilt Festival in two weeks. One more thing to add to my ever-growing list.

Have a super sewing weekend, Nanette. Can't wait til next week to see what wonderful creations you come up with.

Those colors are amazing--wow! I think you're right about border prints. Lately they are featured in many quilt patterns and I haven't been able to find any locally so I hope they become available soon. Thanks for sharing some eye candy.
