Finishing Up Alpine 2010 Quilt

If you read my blog with semi-regularity you'll know I've been working on a sampler quilt along with my LQG all of 2010. I've really had so much fun with it and I'm crazy excited about getting it finished and off to be quilted.
Above is Jina Barney's quilt she showed last month with the final block design - Christmas Stockings. Jina designed the quilt for us and you can find it here. Thanks so much Jina. You've knocked it out of the park.
This is the top part of my quilt in poor lighting. But I am going to be done this week with it after I finish the 8 Christmas stocking blocks I'm currently in the middle of making. (Like I have all the time in the world. I should be Christmas sewing!!)
These 2 blocks are finished. I have the toes and heels appliqued on the stockings and I added some trim to the top. As you can tell I am using some of my Monica Holiday Happy fabric. Look at the cute little Christmas gnome on the toe.
These 2 blocks are ready for me to applique the toes and heels on them. Yes. I'm needle turning them. I know there are faster ways a couple weeks before Christmas but I can't change how I've been making this quilt at this stage of the game.
The red check stocking is nearly ready for the toe/heel. Love my Holiday Happy fabric with this quilt. The colors are perfect since there really isn't green in this quilt at all. I stayed with yellow, blue and red (oh, and pink).
More Holiday Happy and a little Riley Blake stripe thrown in just because it was on my cutting table while I am finishing up my crown quilt. And besides, it goes really well with everything else.

Have I mentioned I am so not ready for Christmas? Yipes.

That quilt is going to be so cute! I was hoping to finish my Christmas Cottage quilt made from you pattern and it's still on my "to do" pile. My tree is up and I'm getting there. I should be ready for Christmas by Nov of 2011. :-)

May I ask --- were the flowers in the row above the stockings free pieced, or paper pieced? I really like the style!
