Thank you to everyone that is a devoted blog reader and also to my new readers. I appreciate your participation in the giveaway and for all the sweet comments. Today I'm really excited to announce the winner of last week's giveaway.
The winner is "Heartsdesire" She said:
"Count me in, for sure. I love scrap quilts and I know what a wonderful way it is to use up those leftovers. I participated in Jodi's scrap-a-long last time and used up all my 30s scraps. And what a lovely quilt it made. Winning your scraps would really get me going. Thanks for being so generous."
Congratulations to Heartsdesire. I'll get your prize off to you right away.I hope you're inspired to get out those scraps in your sewing room and use some of the ideas Jodi has shown or to make my easy picnic quilt.
I received this photo from my niece Tricia last week. Tricia finished her picnic quilt we started at our family retreat in October and she hand quilted it herself. I am so proud of my sisters and nieces for taking on the tradition of sewing and creating and I'm very happy to pass on the traditions learned from Freda, my mother. She would be so proud of Tricia.

Yay!! :o) What a lucky girl.
And Tricia's quilt is precious!
Hey! We share the same name and both love to hand quilt. :o) Fun!!
Well done Tricia! You are right it is a lot about tradition, nice to see that it is passed on. My daughter's know their way around a sewing a machine and knitting needle, which really please me.
lucky heartsdesire, feeling a bit envious here.
Hi Nanette!
Your niece's quilt is beautiful. Has she been quilting for long?
Sorry to hear about your Eagles... you can always cheer for the Giants!
Yeah! I am happy for Heartsdesire! Love the quilt and have pinned it for future reference. ~Kelly

Congratulations to the winner - wonderful inspirational bundle of scraps there. I have my center done of my picnic quilt, now for the borders.
Those quilts look great. Cant wait to gather my scaps and make a scrap quilt.
I love the story of how you made and traded blocks at your family reunion and the quilt that Tricia completed is beautiful! I started one of my own with earth tones and love how it is coming together.
Congrats to the lucky scraps winner & Tricia for finishing her scrappy quilt!! =)
