Monday Things

Today is the big event - Melissa's Cottage Open House! I hope you will all pop over to visit and attend her little party. There are prizes and giveaways and fun things to enjoy. She has been planning this for days and days and it is such a clever idea.

Among the prizes Melissa is giving away my kit that includes 32 charm squares (6"), fussy cut blocks and trim you could use for just about any project or to make my All Dressed Up Pattern on my side bar. I will be sending it out but you have to go to Melissa's blog to be included in the drawing.

I made several extra charm square kits and I am listing them on my Etsy shop for after the drawing.
Speaking of giveaways - can you believe my luck? I won Ric Rac's fabulous selvage giveaway last week too! Jodie has made so many cute things out of selvages you won't believe them - go look. She even made a dress!! It is unreal. It is one of a kind and so amazing.

So over the weekend I made some Christmas Cottages. Look at the cute fabric on the left that Belinda gave me. My friend Flora (no blog) came over Friday and gave me just about all the Christmas fabric she has, too. Thanks girls! It was fun mixing and matching everything.

I plan on making as many as possible just in case there is a glitch or something and if I have any blocks left over I'm going to make a quilt for the Festival of Trees -a local event that sells things for charity at Christmas.

Stephanie (little pink Christmas house for me) and Terri sent me a special cottage block each - thanks girls. That was so nice of you to think of me. And that Terri - she is the best partner in our Cottage exchange. She sent me an apron kit, cherry buttons and red rick rack. How sweet is that! She knows what I like. Thank you sooo much Terri. You shouldn't have! (my great luck continues!, I'm starting to feel very spoiled).

This is what we woke-up to Sunday. It's all gone now but its pretty early to have a snow. And we picked our last tomatoes just in time.

Lets go party at Melissa's! EDIT: You have to run, not walk over to this great Party at Melissa's. I was just there and I can't believe what a great event with such fun things to see and do.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your place with the snow and all those cottages.

Melissa's party is fun. It all happened because of your great idea of little cottages!

Just think what you have started - little villages of cottages are popping up all over the country. I've been to Melissa's party and just think her idea is so clever. Yesterday, I fussy-cut all the pieces I want to use in the windows and today I am going to sew my blocks together. Also going to take breaks to do some cleaning and rearranging here in my sewing room. We are getting rain, thankfully no chance of snow as it is in the 60's here. We're having a very warm, nice fall!
