Nedra gave a great trunk show and talked about Texture Magic. She had so many lovely projects to show. Unfortunately the conference room filled with smoke and her wonderful presentation was interrupted. I can't believe all the things she showed that were made with Texture Magic. I decided for sure the next time I use Minkee, I am going to stabilize and embellish it with Texture Magic. She had a little skit that Shelbie and I were in and it was really funny.
I took a class about the care and feeding of my trusty little Singer Featherweight machine that I take to classes with me. I got a new belt for it and learned how to service my own machine.
I was lucky to have my daughter Shelbie go with me. It was fun to have her with me and share a room together. She puts up with a lot from me. Much the time we roll reverse and I think she makes a good mom and I make a good daughter.
Shelbie took a class from my friend Flora. She used her bed as a design space and worked on her hexagon quilt. It really is turning out so cute. I love her colors and fabric. I do admit we have similar tastes.
More re-treat to come.

What a fun time you both had. I look forward to the day my daughters can come with me to a retreat.
I am really enjoying your retreat posts. It is amazing how many quilters attend the retreat. Looks like a lot.
How fun to have Shelbie along with you! Maybe someday my DIL and I will be able to go on a quilt retreat together!
How special to attend the retreat with your daughter! She is also a great quilter, just like you...:0)
Thanks for sharing.
I'm drooling over your Featherweight. And how great to learn how to take care of it!
And look at your sweet daughter. I have two grown sons. They love the things I make them but they won't be going along to any quilting retreats! :)
so many nice quilts you have shown us. Y'all sure look like you had a great time! nice for mom/daughter time too isn't it.

It was so wonderful being together! I miss you already!
How fun to share the retreat with your daughter.
A good daughter is a joy forever, and it sure looks like you have at least one!
We are blessed to have daughters that enjoy going along with us to retreats! Looks like you had so much fun!
Nanette, you girls look like ya had the best time. I'm enjoying all the pictures and have visited Nedra's blog too. Great skit, I tried it last night and it worked I just got all wrinkled though. LOL
Love to see more.
Hey! Re-treat! I get it! Why didn't I think of that!
Someday.....i will take a class from you or with you. That's my goal!
How wonderful to have some time off with Shelbie. I love her color and fabric choices for the quilt. Very pretty :)
Nedra's quilts are gorgeous!
What a terrific retreat! How fun to go with your daughter and that she shares some of the same interests as you! I would hope some day that I would be able to that with my daughter, but unfortunately she only likes to receive quilts, not make them.
I love the hexagon quilt. The dress quilt looks fabulous in the background.
Looks like fun. I'm intrigued by the Featherweight...maybe someday I will look into getting one.
What a great idea to have a class on care of a Featherweight! I would love more info on that Nanette!
I love my featherwieght too! I take it to every class and retreat...although you are ahead of me on learning how to fix it. Good for you. I take the lazy way out and Mr.Honey takes care if mine!
I love Shelbie's quilt. She gets her talent from her Mom.
I'm going over to see Nedra and find out more!
That looks like so much fun and a double delight to have your daughter along.
How lovely that Shelbie went with you and LOL at that "role reversal!" Love the quilts you both are making! Can't wait to see the finished products :)
I love Shelbie's quilt! I just finished a hexagon top, pieced like Shelbie's with my machine - it was so fun and so fast and yet looks so complicated! How great to have a daughter who quilts! Your retreat did look like great fun - the pics on Nedra's blog are great, too! So happy for you that you got to get away! I try to leave a comment by checking open ID but it always comes up with "Open ID error" when I check Typepad, wish I knew what I was doing wrong...so I have to sign in with my dog's blog...xo, The Other Nanette
It was fun seeing you! You are so cute and talented!
You are so blessed to have a daughter interested in quilting like you!
Oh, your retreat sounds like fun!! How difficult will caring for your Featherweight be? I'm curious as I have my Mom's Featherweight and would love to learn how to take care of it myself.
You two must have had a wonderful time together.

Just finished reading all the posts through Feb. 24. Getting caught up. I know what I love about your quilts, you have no fear about using fabrics and I just love that. One day I will be like you, maybe. lol
Would you believe I have had a package of Texture Magic for months now and haven't yet used it???
The reatreat was a lot of fun and it was great to see you (and Shelbie) again! That smoke thing was crazy! I hope my daughter will want to come with me on retreats some day...
What fun you had and to have your daughter along, even better!! I need a class for my Feather Weight..how great was that. I've missed you---I haven't been blog hopping in a long time!!
That's so neat that you and Shelbie are roomies. Enjoy!
Looks like a wonderful retreat! I love seeing Nedra's beautiful work with Texture Magic.
