It's the first Fabulous Fabric Friday for 2009

Do you love my new blog look? I am very happy with how it turned out. It is happy and bright and beeee-utiful. I have to give Terri from Purple and Paisley a huge thank-you. Terri set everything up for me and did such a great job. She is a pro at this and a good friend. The fabric in the header is a Japanese fabric I happened upon last year and the little hive in the right hand corner is from Michele at Calico Daisy. Thanks Michele.

Thank you for your support and ideas for our Handmade Christmas 2009 collection. I'm going to post an update on Monday for the latest ideas being submitted. This is fun. Grab the button on the side bar for your blog and send me some ideas for great gifts/ornaments to begin making together in the fall.

On to the fabric:

These sweet fat quarters in the front of the photo were some I won at family bingo on Christmas Eve. Lovely prints I didn't have and wanted. The vintage feed sacks in the back are from Natalie and her boyfriend Justin. I love them. I've already used a chunk of each of them. I've got a sweet little project going that uses the postmarks.
These beautiful prints were a gift from Eileen. Eileen's has some really great vintage fabric It is her birthday Monday and she's having a little fabric celebration at her blog, Eileen's Attic, this weekend. You can see I've already cut into 2 of the fabrics. I couldn't resist. I love all of them. Thank you so much Eileen. Yes, I'm still making houses. I have a dozen more of these that I need to quilt this weekend with Insul-Brite to make more (yes more) potholders. You can see some of Eileen's fabric included in the rooftops.
When I was laying out the house blocks to admire the fabric I couldn't help but thinking these would make a cute quilt too. I guess I just can't get enough of the house thing.

-Happy Weekend everyone.

Love your new look. I just did mine too. It still needs a thing or 2. Yes, those darling houses would make a great quilt.

I have another idea: you know the little trees I made just before Christmas? There is a like for the pattern. They would be so cute to make for Christmas gifts.
