Fabric Friday and more Gifts

It is Friday again. How does Friday keep coming around so quickly?
I have resisted the new fabric precuts for awhile thinking them not a fabulous value. But when I saw this 2 1/2" x 5" candy sampler I thought it was right for an impulse buy. I like all 4 lines of fabric but I rarely will buy a complete line of any fabric. Getting fabric this way was like having just a sweet taste. My favorite is Bliss, though, of course.
I actually have a few ideas for these specialty cuts. So I hope they won't just sit on my shelf.
I also managed a few new fat quarters. I have already had 4 of the 5 fat quarters and used them up. The fifth - the word print on the right - I have in another color and I like it so I acquired the neutral print when I saw it. I've already started cutting into several of these fat quarters.
Sherri is in town and we met with a few of the gals for lunch and a quick shop stop the other day. This hexie gift is from Sherri.
That Lori! She always sees potential in everything. When Lori saw these little bees on the shelf she thought "How cute! But they are naked." I would just think "How cute". She made aprons for them. So clever.
This is from RaeAnn. I actually cut into the orange and blue already. RaeAnn is so thoughtful. Look how cute this package is.

Thanks so much girls. My friends are great. It is so fun to meet up with them. I nearly didn't make it to see them yesterday, though. I was directly behind a one-car accident on the freeway as I was traveling north. Scary! I still haven't recovered yet from the terror. Gratefully I was able to stop in time.

I have lots to show next week. I've been actually sewing!

Those precuts look so fun. Can't wait to see what you make up with them. And that Rae Ann, she really goes above and beyond doesn't she?. I won her giveaway on Stash Manicure last month and my prize was fabulous! She's SOO generous!

You showed the basket quilt at the Alpine Quilt Guild a few weeks ago right? I love it and am itching to make one out of my stash one of these days.

Usually the pre-cuts are cheaper than fabric in canada but those candy bars were nuts! It's only 2 charm packs and they're over $20! Some stores sell the charm packs for $5-7 so it's not good value like that...

The price doesn't make them less cute though lol!

I can't wait to see what you make!

Oh goodness, that must have been awful on the freeway! Too close for comfort. So glad you weren't involved.

Bliss is my favorite of those too but I do like them all. I love fabric precuts, if only because you can sample a whole line (and not have to do so much cutting is a bonus). If I move to Utah can I join your group of friends?? :-) Jen

I'm so glad you weren't in that accident. And...once again, I am bowled over by the little gifties your gal-pals put together. LOVE the fabrics you bought in that candy bar. How much of each fabric is in something like that?

It is awful witnessing an accident, lucky you weren't involved. Those friends of yours are so generous and kind but I'm sure you do the same thing.
Love the bumblebee, too cute!

I am sooo thankful that you were safe my friend! I had no idea!
It was so fun being with you the other day and you are the greatest when it comes to gift giving. I am still trying to decide if I can really bring myself to use that DARLING vintage fabric pieces that you gave me. I just love having it right on my table top so I can view it each day... oh... and pet it too!
I am happy that you have already cuit into some of the pieces that I gave you. :)
Can't wait to see what you make out of your candy bar fabric!

Oh, yay! I had seen the candy bars on one of the Aussie blogs, but hadn't seen any here. Glad they're available now. That's handy size. And as always, what charming gifts you sewing pals share!
