Cherry Cheesecake

It feels so good to be back to sewing with lots of things going on around market and after market at my house. I've been working little by little on Lori's Cherry Cheesecake quilt pattern. Out of all Lori's new patterns this one is my favorite, although it was really hard to choose.
I started making my quilt when we had our little friend retreat after market. It was nice to get personalized instruction from Lori.
I have all my 12 Dresden's sewn and appliqued. They are so cute. I'm seeing Sew Cherry everywhere!
I have my cherries appliqued. I cut the white squares larger than the circles so I could applique and then size the circle. I like cutting blocks down after they are completed. If you look closely my cherries are not all the same size. I'm not sure how that happened! And a few cherries are a little imperfect but that is okay. Real cherries aren't perfect. I'm not good at embroidery. Lori got me started but some of my applique is "wonky" (yes I said it). I'm really okay with that, too. I got a little better at embroidery as I went on and my confidence increased.
This is the only block finished so far. But I will have more finished by the end of the week.
Sew Cherry is Sew Fun! Which is your favorite new pattern by Lori?

P.S. I don't know about everyone else but I am having trouble (again) leaving comments on blogs and even seeing page views. Maybe it is just me. Anyway, hard to blog hop when it gets like this. So hi to you from me.

I'm glad I could be here when the word "wonky" appeared in your post ... it seems historic, somehow. I had to look twice to see if you'd appliqued those cherries or if they were a print, so I think they must be pretty good.

I like 'wonky'. LOL I'm thinking your cherries look just fine. That's my favorite pattern from Lori, as well. It's a must do and soon.

Hi to you, from me!!!!

The cherry centers are truly delicious looking! If you had not said they were wonky, I would not have noticed.

I read somewhere, regarding leaving comments, that removing yourself from the "always keep me signed in" checkbox helps. One of my frequent readers tried it and it worked for her.

I am having trouble leaving comments too. Sometimes my identity comes up fine, and other times it will send me back and forth between asking me to sign in, etc. and won't let me submit.
Blogger really has been having issues!
I love Lori's new pattern and would love to make it too!

Another super cute block! This is going to be another winner!
I was having issues, and now the first thing I do is relaunch or re-start my computer. Hope this might help.

I have been having trouble leaving comments on some blogs too. I keep signing in over and over and it won't post my comment. It is driving me crazy!

I love that pattern and yours looks so cute. Lori amazes me with her new fabric line and all the cute patterns and aprons she has designed to go with her line. I am kinda crazy for it. :)

Oh, Nanette, how pretty that finished block is! I love your cherries, and they look perfect to me. My embroidery is very poor. And I really don't have a whole lot of patience to sit still and do it either. Machine sewing is more my style. ;) You are doing such a terrific job!

Im having trouble too but yours worked just fine. The previous three I had to do a URL comment. But not all blogs have those.

You are just going to laugh at me as I still don't quilt, but I bought "Remember Grandma's Apron"....I am getting the fabric together for it.....I will have to find someone local to make it and my niece has a big arm quilting machine, she said she would quilt it.....JUST love this stuff! I found out via Lori, the whole line sold out! But they are making another run of it, but it is going to be awhile.....hope I can find all I need! :) I love your quilt pattern too.....Mine is going to hand on a wall.....in remembrance of my Grandmas'a aprins! Gorgeous block. I LOVE that fabric so much and then creating Dresdens with it really make me smile.

Comments thing has been a huge problem for about three weeks or so. The only way to comment on blogs if you have the same problem as I have had where I am put into a neverending loop where blogger wants to make me appear as anonymous is to uncheck the box when you log in that says 'remember me'. If you uncheck that you can comment as yourself. The bad part of that is you then will have to log in everytime you want to comment on any other blogs. VERY frustrating and Google hasn't got a clue why it's happening as usual.

I love the Sew Cherry quilt Nanette! It's just as cute as can be.
I had the same trouble and if you un-check "stay signed in" you can leave comments. There's a glitch and it doesn't seem to be getting resolved.

Nanette...you are really zippin' right along on your blocks!
You have done a fantastic job and even though I actually like "wonky"...lol...your cherries don't look wonky to me:)
I'm looking forward to seeing your daisies...

I really love this quilt you are making. The appliqued cherries are so cute ... and your embroidery looks good too.

Yes, this definitely ranks high on the cute-o-meter!

Is it hard needle turning the outer circle? I mean with all the seams, is it hard keeping it in a smooth circle?

This is an adorable pattern----LOVE it {and Lori's cake walk, too!!}.
