Totally Random

Today is random day. Three things that have nothing to do with each other. Why not?
I have several different Japanese reproduction feed sack novelty prints that are meant to cut up for making little bags. I've been wanting to do this for a while, especially since I saw Pink Penguin's drawstring bag tutorial a while back. I put a bit of glue on the ends of this cotton cord and then I used some of the pink tape that Natalie gave me to finish it off.
The back is patchwork just like in the tutorial except made it 2" longer so it is 8" wide by 10" long. So it is a small bag. It was fun and very fast.
I know this picture looks weird. But I have to tell you I found the perfect hot dog. They sell Nathan's hot dogs at my local supermarket. They are excellent hot dogs. But this is the best way to make them. Trust me. Try it. Grill the hot dogs and onions on a grill pan over the stove. We slow grill them. Make toast when they are almost finished. And then top with your favorite toppings. There is something about the toast that makes it better because the toast becomes like the best grilled bun. Even my picky daughter Natalie said "that is the best hot dog I have ever tasted." True.
Recently my bank sent me an email saying I could make my personalized debit card for free. Since my current card wouldn't swipe anymore at the gas station I decided to get a new card. I debated what photo to use for my personal card. I love the way it turned out with my clothesline dress quilt starring on the card. I used the red tape to blot out the number, obviously. I love the new card. It makes me smile every time I use it. Hopefully it won't make me spend more!

Have a good week people.

I am in AWE of the card. And the hot dogs ... well, we had the chance to eat at THE Nathan's on Coney Island this summer and I must say it was the best hot dog I have ever consumed. Which store of yours carries them??

Cool debit card, Nanette! What a great idea.

That hot dog looks so good. I am going to have to buy an extra onion to try them this way. I wish I had your bank. I would love a cute card. But I would be scared that I would flash it too much which would result in spending more money.

The only thing I see missing with those 'dogs' is c-h-e-e-s-e..!!!
You're little patchwork bag is cute...I saw those on Aumill's blog and I was thinking I remembered they were kind of small...your's is a nicer size!!

I live in NY and it's a battle between Sabrette and Nathan's. My family is torn. Half of us are Nathan's fans and half Sabrette. Sabrette's are my fav-they don't come back for a visit during the day-if you know what I mean!
Cute card.

We buy Nathan's hot dogs all the time - they're the only kind the mister will eat...I had to laugh at the randomness of your post - could a hot-dog quilt be far behind?!? And I love your new credit card - what a fun idea!! That was one of the best posts I've read today - hotdogs and credit cards - who knew? xo, The Other Nanette

The bag is darling!! And what a great idea on the credit card!! I would have done something regular like putting my kids pics on it! I like the quilt better...lol!! And if I liked hot dogs I might get excited about that too, but since I don't, I'm with Red on this one!

Love the credit card.....how cool!! Mine is in hiding for a while....LOL...I need to save some money.....and I can't get in my sewing room for piles of patterns and fabric so probably don't need to buy anything anyway.......perhaps I could use my card to buy some more free time to spend stitching!

And lastly, that credit card is SO COOL! How fun to have your own unique card with one of your designs on it!
Your Famous! =) They really come up with good ways for us to want to spend money don't they? LOL
