Felted Purl Slippers - and More Snow

Last week on the Purl they featured a pair of knited mary-jane slippers. My mom liked them particularly, and emailed me a copy if the instructions from the site. She requested that I make a pair for her. After looking through the instructions, I decided to change the pattern up a little bit, and make a felted version, something more compact and durable for every-day wear.

I used some Cascade Quatro that I purchased from where else? - Purl, and some odds and ends from other yarns to accent. I finished the felting today and am quite pleased with my results. I am thinking of making a pair for myself!-

On a side note we got 14 new inches of snow today. It made going to church "interesting". We had family home for the weekend and there's always tons of cars at our house. This is all new snow because we had a sunny melting day yesterday. There is at least 12".

Our neighbor is a designer and orders furniture from North Carolina. The delivery truck picked a very unfortunate day to deliver furniture. It got stuck in front of our home for hours and then jacknifed at the end of the culdesac when it tried to get out. Eventually a wrecker had to come pull him out. Dave had to snow blow the street right next to the truck so we could slip around it and get our cars home after church. Really enough is enough and I've had enough snow.

The slippers are darling. I love the snow pictures, I can't even believe a road is there, looks like a beautiful field or orchard.
