Knitted Dress & Shadow

I finally finished a project that I have been working on for a long time - a knitted dress. There are so many cute knitted dresses out there, that I wanted to make one that looked kind of like a John Galliano dress I saw in a magazine - but not so hootchie.

I used a cardigan pattern that I found in Interweave Knits - the sylph cardigan, as the basic shape for the bodice - and the rest I shaped to try and look like the John Galliano dress - with the exception of the puffy sleeves, which I added myself, and for extra frill, I added some crochet.

I used some really soft cotton yarn from Blue Sky Alpacas - so the dress is very comfortable
This is a picture of me and our family dog, Shadow hanging out. I'm wearing a sweater that I knitted and posted about earlier this year, and Shadow is wearing my sister Jamie's sunglasses.
Such a patient dog.

The black dress is very, very nice and you look great in it!! Little shadow is looking pretty cute in those sunglasses. I have a friend that is going to loan me a video on knitting because she says if she could learn how to knit then I can. We shall see. It's a project for after Christmas.

Your dress is beatiful on you. I am impressed that you made it. My daughter (15) is enjoying wearing the knitted dresses too, but they are store bought. I never learned to knit or crochet.

You do beautiful work. I love the lime green sweater. Shadow is adorable!
