Day 2 - Trees and Ornaments

Happy Monday everyone. Don't forget to leave a comment today to enter our blog anniversary giveaway (read the instructions posted yesterday if you don't know what I'm talking about).

I'm so bowled over by your comments. Thank you everyone. I will not be able to respond to everyone of them this week but I love hearing from you and especially those who have been reading my blog but haven't commented before- thank you! You all inspire me! I'll be stopping in to the blogs where my giveaway is posted today.

I think I've got some fun prizes planned this week. And this week of prizes is open to everyone - international.

Today's featured prize is 2 things. One of the house ornaments I made, pictured above, and . . .
one of these very fun fabric Christmas trees. So both items will be in this prize, if you win and you could pick this.
I first saw these trees on Whip Up Blog. If you don't know that blog - bookmark it. It is a good one and full of so many fun projects. The Whip Up blog was featuring an idea from The Small Object blog. As soon as I happened on this tutorial/free pattern I knew I wanted to make these trees. They are very quick, easy and delightful. I thought the top needed something special so I added some buttons on them and used fabric for the trees that some of my friends have given me. (Thanks again girls.) I did enlarge the pattern just a tad because the originals are tiny. You really could make the house ornaments and these trees any size by just enlarging the patterns.

Thanks!

Nanette,
You may set a record for comments. The houses are cute but those trees are just darling. I remember when I first came to your blog and started e-mailing you that I kept thinking you were Freda and couldn't remember your name was Nanette. Finally, I read your early posts and it finally clicked in my head to thing "you, Nanette and Freda, your mom". :-) I remember thinking I should check to see if you had posted yesterday but you don't usually post on Sundays so I didn't. I popped in this morning before the day got busy and am just now getting back to comment. I printed out the house pattern and I think I will go now and do the tree one. Do you realize how much fun you provide to all us bloggers!!!!!

What gorgeous houses! I made some trees similar I think from Wee Wonderfuls last year, if you fancy mixing your forest a little. they are gorgeous. Thank you for hosting these giveaways. Thank you also for making this international. Being in the UK I am a little reluctant to enter giveaways for big things as I know the postage can be steep for a person already being very generous.
