The best part of a retreat is catching up with old friends. Nedra taught in the same room after my class. We barely had time to say hi this time. But I did get some wonderful bonding time in with Emily. Emily and I have so much in common. She kept me company while I helped some of the gals in the "free sew" room. When we left to go home my son said, "She's really nice, I like her". It is great when a 15-year-old boy can appreciate the friend of his mother.

When Mason and I left town we drove around a bit. Panguitch has some great old farm houses. I love old houses like this.
They all have the same red/orange brick. The whole town is wide streets with no side walks. It has been the same for more than 100 years.-nanette

I love old houses too! Sometimes I think I'd like to live in one someday.... and then I remember my 1979 house has enough things that need fixing.
Old houses are wonderful to study. In our city there are lots of Victorians and craftsman era houses (my favorites). Thanks for the picture tour of the quilts--great variety--and the town. Glad you had a good trip. Isn't it nice to travel just with one kid sometimes?

I'm so glad your daughter is fine and I'm having such a good time on your adventure. Love the pictures of old houses, makes my mind wonder who all lived in them and their stories...
I didn't have time to see the quilt show either, so thank you to Mason also for taking pictures. And isn't that Emily the cutest? Did I tell you that she showed up at our garage sale on Saturday with her mother? She even bought an antique ironing board I was selling.

Thanks for sharing the photos of the quilts you saw. Loved the daisy with the purple patchwork center on black and white patchwork. I may have to try something like that. Mason must be a neat young man to accompany you to a quilt festival.

I had so much fun at the Quilt Walk also. I posted in my blog that i regret not being able to talk to you. We have a common friend. i saw your yummy bags every where i turned. i would love to buy a kit but only if you have one left over . For sure don't make one up if you don't have extra.
thank you for showing more of the great quilts at the festival. FYI in pioneer days the brick was made out in sanford right outside of town. The differences you see in color had to do with how long or at what temperature the brick was in the kiln and the clay used for it. I have lots of brown on my brick. I think it got a little burned on the edges. I really like it.

Oh, those gorgeous quilts... what a fabulous time this must hvae been.
I adore looking at old houses too. We used to live in one and it was nice having all that space, although it was a wee bit much work for my parents to fix it up and to heat it..

I tried to pick a favorite quilt but I like them all. :-) Love the old houses. When we built our new house, we built it with an "old house" in mind. My husband didn't want the upkeep of an old house, although there is a charm to old ones that you just can't get with a new house. Sounds like the retreat was awesomely fun. I need to make a couple of your bags for friends. I love that pattern!
